NAC Joins Int’l Women’s Day Celebration

Women employees of the National AIDS Commission of Liberia headed by the Commission’s Chairperson, Hon. Theodosia S. Kolee on March 6, 2020 joined the rest of women in Liberia to observe this year’s International Women’s Day.
The international Women’s day is celebrated march 8 each year to honor the achievements of women throughout the world where women from different backgrounds and cultures come together to fight for gender parity and women’s right
Held under the global Theme: “I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights” and National Theme: “Women’s Rights for Generational Equality,” the program was held in the theatre of the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.
Attended by scores of women from all sectors in the country, the International Women’s Day was aimed at helping nations around the world to eliminate discrimination against women.
The day was also celebrated to reinforce the call to help women gain their full and equal participation in global development.
In making the day colorful, the women were seen wearing dominant purple color chanting slogans, #EachforEqual to signify loyalty, constancy and steadfastness to a cause.
