NAC Engages Opinion Leaders On Stigma and Discrimination Reduction

The National AIDS Commission (NAC) with support from the Government of Liberia has concluded an interactive dialogue with opinion leaders in three counties on the reduction of HIV-related Stigma and discrimination directed at persons living with HIV, key populations, and vulnerable groups in Liberia.
The counties include Bong, Margibi, Grand Bassa, and Nimba. The objective of the engagement was to ensure that community leaders, religious leaders, and Social and cultural groups are sensitized to take the lead in educating their communities. It was aimed at ensuring that key partners and stakeholders in the National HIV response at the county level are involved to address dangers stigma and discrimination pose to the country’s public health system. The week-long engagement coincided with public awareness on five radio stations in those counties.
